Katie Couric Engaged to John Molner
Katie Couric is set to marry her boyfriend of two years John Molner, according to reports Tuesday.
The holiday weekend saw the couple on vacation together in East Hampton, New York when 50-year-old Molner took advantage of the opportunity- the banker proposed to Couric with a spectacular diamond ring while on the beach at sunset, according to Couric's rep via People.com.
It will be the second marriage for 56-year-old Couric. The journalist is the widow of Jay Monahan who died in 1998 from colon cancer. Couric has been single handedly raising their daughters Ellie, 21, and Carrie, 17.

"When the girls were really little, I always imagined I would be modern-day Carol Brady," Couric said in 2011, according to People. "I used to worry about the future. [But] who knows what it will bring? Hopefully it will bring good things."
Couric first confirmed her romance with Molner, the head of mergers and acquisitions at Brown Brothers Harriman & Co., back in April 2012.
"He's great, he's from Chicago," said Couric at the time. "I love Midwesterners!"
Furthermore, the "Katie" host gushed about Molner while speaking to USA Today.
"We're having a great time," she said. "He's funny and very successful in his own right. In a different line of work."
The second season of "Katie" premieres Monday, Sept. 9.
When she first explained the talk show, Couric said that "Katie" would be a lifestyle program directed mostly toward women that would bring "humanity and intelligence" to the small screen.
However, the show has received various ratings while also suffering from behind the scenes problems due to a "very stressful" situation and "staffing weirdness" as well as "no one making decisions," according to the New York Post.
Couric's woes began after the abrupt departure of executive producer Jeff Zucker who is now CNN's worldwide president.
"Jeff's departure left a void," said a television insider at the New York Post. "Then they had four co-executive producers and the staffing decisions being made were poor. Katie was left vulnerable."
"The ['Katie'] show was oversold at syndication and hasn't lived up to expectations," the insider added. "Now everyone at ABC is gossiping that Katie will end up at CNN with Jeff [Zucker]."
Also, some critics have deemed "Katie" as being "cheesy," other viewers say that Couric is "sharp, warm and friendly," according to Mail Online.
