Katie Holmes Fashion Show Stalled by Winter Storm Nemo

Katie Holmes has been forced to make changes due to the winter storm moving over New York City on Friday.

The storm, named Nemo, is interrupting New York Fashion Week, where Holmes was due to present her latest collection from the Holmes & Yang fashion line.

Furthermore, Holmes needed to be home for her daughter Suri, whose school was closed because of the blizzard, reported People.com.

Suri, 6, is Holmes' daughter with ex-husband and "Mission Impossible" star Tom Cruise, whom she divorced last year. The pair was married for six years.

The actress is often spotted with her adorable mini-me in NYC, as Suri attends the Convent of the Sacred Heart in Manhattan's Upper East Side.

The 33-year-old single mother established Holmes & Yang in 2009 with her stylist, Jeanne Yang, who is also a parent to twin daughters.

"Our customer is somebody who wants to be comfortable," Yang told People while speaking of the design label. "You want to look good, but Katie and I always talk about this, it should never come at the cost of comfort."

In addition to her entrance to the fashion world, Holmes is also still an actress. The "Dawson's Creek" star appeared on Broadway in the show "Dead Accounts," but the production wrapped last month after just 27 previews and 44 regular performances.

Also, according to sources close to Holmes, the actress has discussed her future plans for romance. Although she admitted she is not yet ready to date, the star has vowed to never date another actor.

"Katie doesn't want to tie herself down just yet, but she says she's done going out with actors," said an insider speaking to RadarOnline.com.

Yang is reportedly helping introduce Holmes to potential love interests, reported Radar.

"Jeanne … has taken Katie to some art gallery openings recently and she's met tons of interesting artists," the insider continued. "She's been saying now that if she does date anyone, it could be someone who works in the arts world."

Meanwhile, Nemo has hit the East Coast complete with wind, rain, and snow on Friday. The storm has created a buzz on social media sites Friday, with both Nemo and blizzard becoming trending topics on Twitter.

Twitter user Bea optimistically posted, "Let it snow! Just adds more atmosphere to a romantic pre-Valentine's day weekend. #Nemo"

"Getting pelted in the face by snowflakes sounds less painful than it actually is #Blizzard," posted New Yorker Jackie.
