Katie Holmes 'How I Met Your Mother' Halloween Special Tonight

Katie Holmes will make her debut on the Halloween edition of How I Met Your Mother tonight.

Appearing in a pumpkin costume, the 32-year-old actress will play Naomi, the previous love interest of the show’s main character, Ted Mosby.

Mosby, portrayed by Josh Radnor, apparently lost Naomi’s number after a Halloween party, and every year wears the same costume in the hope of meeting her again. Finally Mosby reunites with the mysterious pumpkin and introduces her to his friends Barney Stinton (played by Neil Patrick Harris) and Robin Scherbatsky (played by Cobie Smulders).

A sneak peek video of Monday’s episode reveals the reunion with Holmes’ character speaking to the group of friends.

“I’m gonna go make some tootsie rolls. It’s a drink I invented. There’s a song and dance that goes along with it, but I have to drink three of them before I can do it,” said Naomi.

How I Met Your Mother airs on CBS at 8 p.m. EST.

Holmes is married to Mission: Impossible actor Tom Cruise with whom she shares daughter Suri. The couple attends the Church of Scientology, and has been the topic of tabloid gossip since the beginning of their relationship.

In March 2011, Holmes filed a $50 million libel lawsuit against Star Magazine for insinuating she abused drugs. Star issued a public apology in May along with an undisclosed “substantial” donation to Holmes’ charity, Dizzy Feet.

The Dizzy Feet Foundation began in July 2009 and is a dance scholarship fund Holmes launched alongside American Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe and Dancing with the Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba.
