Katie Holmes Signs With Bobbi Brown Cosmetics
Katie Homles has allegedly signed a deal with Bobbi Brown cosmetics with reports stating that the actress is eager to start building her savings.
If the rumors are true then Holmes will may become the first celebrity promoter of Bobbi Brown cosmetics.
Bobbie Brown herself confirmed the details of the arrangement on Thursday, stating that they met through a mutual acquaintance and came to the agreement together. Brown explained "this all came together eight weeks ago when Katie and I were introduced by a mutual friend," according to the Daily News.
The deal was made in an old fashioned English style over afternoon tea, according to Brown.
"We had tea in the afternoon, and we bonded," Brown told WWD. "And then it was, 'Oh, my God, you would be the perfect face for Bobbi'."
Brown admitted that they were not looking for a celebrity when the search for a new spokeswoman began, but Holmes' charm was enough to win over the woman executive.
"We weren't looking for a celebrity, just a cool, amazing woman who would fit with our brand. And she's just ridiculously, naturally beautiful."
While the deal will be Holmes' first in beauty and cosmetics, the actress has said she hoped to support the same values in a makeup line that she supports in her own fashion line with friend and former stylist, Jeanne Yang.
"This is my first foray into beauty products and the evolution of a look," Holmes said.
"You want the hair and makeup to support the woman, just like you want the clothes to support the woman," she elaborated to WWD. "You don't want to lose the woman. That's how Jeanne and I design."
The deal is estimated to be worth anywhere from $2 million to $3 million.
