Katy Perry Blasts Media for 'Tired of Being Famous' Reports
Katy Perry has voiced complaints about the media after reports surfaced of her saying she was "tired of being famous."
While speaking to Teen Vogue about her upcoming movie, "Katy Perry: Part of Me 3D," the singer and songwriter admitted there are parts of her job she does not like.
"I'm tired of being famous already," Perry joked. "But I'm not tired of creating. Fame is, I think, just a disgusting by-product of what I do."

Shortly after the interview, Perry's comment about fame made headlines. The 27-year-old responded to the reports via Twitter Monday.
"O the joy of something verbally said being taking [sic] out of complete context in PRINT," wrote Perry. "This is why there's a continuous [heart]/: ( for the media world."
"U see, the fame quote was spoken in jest (which is typical of me)," Perry continued. "BUT it's not really about that. The fact is: my success, & u my fans have afforded me the most incredible luxury: to grow as an artist & a human. THAT, I would not be more grateful for."
The "California Gurlz" singer is often a topic covered extensively by the media. Following her split from husband Russell Brand, Perry was forced to cope publicly with the divorce.
Also during her interview with Teen Vogue, Perry added that fame has taught her an important lesson.
"I stopped focusing on that other people think a while ago," said the singer. "If you try to be everything to everyone, you'll only end up completely confused."
"Katy Perry: Part of Me 3D" will showcase the star as she truly is, Perry told Teen Vogue.
"One of my main reasons for doing this is that people think of me as though I'm Dorothy in the ruby slippers," said the California native referring to "The Wizard of Oz."
"I want them to see everything else that's involved," she continued. "Yes, I am her, but at the end of it all, I'm also the guy behind the curtain."
"Katy Perry: Part of Me" hits theaters on the Fourth of July.
