Katy Perry John Mayer Engagement Coming? 'Looking At Rings'

John Mayer and Katy Perry may be taking their relationship to the next level with reports indicating that the pair are shopping for engagement rings this week.

Dating since the summer of 2012, Perry's on-and-off-again relationship with Mayer has seemingly progressed into a more serious connection. And in recent weeks, the pair have sparked rumors of an "inevitable" engagement to come.

An insider close to Mayer and Perry said that the pair are definitely headed for marriage, adding that their relationship is "very serious," according to E! News.

"Everyone wants them to get engaged," the insider explained. "They are so perfect together."

Even Perry herself has admitted that she and Mayer are a "great fit" after revealing she had feelings for him long before they got together.

"I'm actually dating my crush," the "Roar" singer told W magazine recently. "I had a crush on [Mayer] for a long time, and it just so happens we fit together great."

Furthermore, another report indicated that Mayer is seriously considering proposing and even "looking at rings," especially since his father is quickly approaching old age and his mother approves of the relationship.

"She approves of Katy," an insider told Us Weekly, referring to Mayer's mother's opinion. "He wants to do it soon because his dad is 86."

Then, possibly eluding to her personal life, Perry posted her gratitude to fans on Twitter while promising that more "light" is to come next year.

"GOOD morning! (from TOKYO) I woke up to the news that were are #1 with the #PRISM debut & become the biggest record by a pop female this year," the singer started.

"For that I say THANK YOU," Perry continued. "I hope you are enjoying all the colors #PRISM has to offer. I promise to continue to give back… Tour next year… And so many opportunities to be a light very soon. You love & support for the music means the world to me."
