Katy Perry John Mayer Official: Couple Attends Inauguration Ceremony Together
Katy Perry and John Mayer have cemented their status as a couple after attending President Obama's Inauguration ceremony in Washington, D.C. on Monday.
Inauguration Day saw the President take oath for his second term on Monday, and as the event coincided with Martin Luther King Day, it marked a special moment in American history.
Perry was spotted in the massive crowd of spectators as she held Mayer's hand and smiled. The "Part of Me" singer donned a black hat, sunglasses, and an embroidered black-and-tan coat, while Mayer sported a black wool coat.
James Taylor, Kelly Clarkson, and Beyonce were on the lineup during Obama's Inauguration ceremony on Monday morning.
Just days earlier, Perry had performed for First Lady Michelle Obama and her daughters Sasha and Malia during the Kids' Inaugural Ball on Saturday.
"From rehearsals to her performance, John went everywhere with her," an insider told Yahoo! News. "They actually looked really cute and really happy together."
Mayer, 35, has redeemed his former image as a playboy and was first spotted with Perry, 28, over the summer. The "Born and Raised" star was formerly linked to Jennifer Aniston, Taylor Swift, and Jessica Simpson, among others.
On Saturday, Mayer also attended the Kids' Inaugural Ball displaying his support for Perry.
"He wanted this to be her moment," a source close to the couple told Us Weekly.
Meanwhile, the pair "are seriously in love and exclusive," according to another source at Us Weekly.
The singers spent Christmas together with Perry's parents in Santa Barbara, Calif., according to the U.K.'s Daily Mail.
On Inauguration Day, the celebration continued into the evening where John Legend, Alicia Keyes, Jennifer Hudson, and Perry all performed in honor of the President of the United States during the Inaugural Ball.
