Katy Perry, John Mayer Split Caused By 'Roar' Singer's Fear of Marriage?
Katy Perry and John Mayer are rumored to have split in recent days and as fans continue to speculate what exactly went wrong, a new report claims disagreements about marriage may be to blame.
On Wednesday insiders claimed Perry, 29, initiated the split from Mayer, 36, and photos of a moving truck seen outside of the pop star's home on Feb. 26 did little to dispel the reports. While the pair has not publicly addressed breakup rumors, one insider claims Perry's reluctance to get married caused them to part ways.
"The breakup is real but it may not be permanent," a source close to the both entertainers told HollywoodLife.com. "But the one thing that happened was that John was interested in marrying Katy and wanted to propose, but she didn't want to take that plunge yet."

The couple began dating in August 2012 and while they briefly split up in March 2013, they reconciled in July and appeared to be happy in recent weeks.
Perry kicks off her Prismatic world tour in May which is also said to have played a role in her decision to end her relationship.
"She's stressed about the tour. They've been fighting," a source told Us magazine.
"It is probably for the best, because she is going to be on tour for forever," the source explained, with another adding, "Not sure how long it will last this time, but, yes, it is off for now."
On Valentine's Day, Perry was photographed smiling alongside Mayer while wearing a ring on her wedding finger after a romantic dinner in Los Angeles. The pair have been subject to engagement rumors since last year however a source claims Mayer's desire for marriage may have pushed the "Roar" singer away.
"She realized that she really loved John but the commitment of marriage scared her because she failed at it the first time," the source revealed. "She wants to live her life less seriously right now."
Perry was once married to British actor Russell Brand, however, the pair split in 2011 after just 14 months of marriage.
Mayer, who has dated various Hollywood stars in the past including Jennifer Aniston and Jessica Simpson, is believed to have helped Perry overcome her divorce.
"I actually am dating my crush. I had a crush on him for a long time, and it just so happens we fit together great," Perry recently told W magazine.
