Katy Perry on Divorce: Admitted Breakdown in 'Part of Me'
Katy Perry has broken her silence on her very public split from husband Russell Brand both in her new movie, "Katy Perry: Part of Me" and in a recent interview.
"There were times when what was going on in my personal life was so overwhelming that I had to bend over to let those fears fall straight out of my eyes and not my false lashes just as I'm about to go up on that ramp and sing 'Teenage Dream,'" the 27-year-old singer admitted, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Perry and Brand split in December after 14 months of marriage, but the singer remained mum on the details. As part of promoting her new concert documentary, Perry noted that she wanted to treat the subject with "class and truth."

"Nobody knows that really happened except the two people who are in it," she explained.
The film also hints that Perry's marriage was strained by her rocketing music career.
"I thought to myself, 'When I find that person that's going to be my life partner, I won't ever have to choose [between the partner and my career]," said Perry in one scene during the film.
"They won't be threatened or have weird motives,'" she continued. "Then I started to realize, that's not true. That fairytale I had it not true for me right now."
"Katy Perry: Part of Me" will hit theaters July 2 and is available in 3-D.
Moreover, the multi-platinum artist revealed her plans to launch her very own record label.
"When it does come to fruition, I'm going to try and avoid the things that take away any fighting chance for an artist to have financial success," said Perry, according to THR.
Although the future label is not yet named, Perry intends to employ the Golden Rule into the endeavor.
"As people are coming to me with opportunities, I'm thinking, 'How would I want to be treated,'" she said.
Despite her failed marriage, rumors suggest that Perry has moved on. She has been linked to Florence + the Machine guitarist Rob Ackroyd.
