Katy Perry, Russell Brand Twitter Split Follows Divorce Filing
Katy Perry has "unfollowed" husband Russell Brand on Twitter after he filed for divorce last month. Brand has not done the same with her yet, however he has not tweeted for a couple of weeks.
A source told US Weekly that Perry is only communicating with her future ex-husband via phone or email.
“She’s limiting those interactions,” the source said. “He’s being so atrocious that she feels like she never really knew him.”
Meanwhile Perry has been performing in Jakarta, Indonesia and has shot an ad for Adidas in California.
Perry has not yet spoken out publicly about her divorce since the news broke. She also canceled her appearance on the People’s Choice Awards. However, she tweeted on Jan. 7: "Concerning the gossip, I want to be clear that NO ONE speaks for me. Not a blog, magazine, "close sources" or my family."
According to The Mirror, a friend of the “Firework” singer said Perry tried to save her marriage with Brand, suggesting counseling, but was told that the relationship was over and that she needed to move on. “She has been quite down. She really thought she could sort it out with Russell.”
The pair had been married for 14 months before they called it quits at the end of 2011, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
