Katy Perry to be Next 'X-Factor' Judge?
Simon Cowell is now looking to pop star Katy Perry to join "X Factor" as a judge following FOX's recent firing of two judges and the show's host.
Cowell, the show's creator and judge, has since been searching for stars to replace Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul. Cowell reportedly told his ex-girlfriend, Terri Seymour, he wants Perry on the show permanently.
"I worked with Katy once. I think she would be fun because she is hard - in a good way - and she's feisty," Simon told Seymour in an interview for "Extra."
Perry has already appeared as a guest judge on the UK version of "X Factor," and was a guest judge on "American Idol" with Cowell.
But Perry isn't the only female singing sensation Cowell has been eyeing for the show.
The crude judge said he would love to have pop royalty Madonna on the show, despite her "expensive" price tag.
"She would be great, in terms of experience, success... brilliant," Cowell told Seymour.
It has also been rumored that Cowell has been courting new moms and certified stars Beyoncé and Mariah Carey.
"I don't think Mariah [Carey] would make that commitment. She's just had kids," Cowell said.
But the media mogul denied ever reaching out to Beyoncé.
"No, I have no idea where this rumor came from," Cowell told "Extra." "I read it online that I had offered her $100 million [per] year. It's complete nonsense. The budget of the show is $100 million. No one's gonna pay $100 million [per] year for someone."
Although Perry, 27, has no children, she recently finalized her divorce to actor Russell Brand after 14 months of marriage. Brand, 36, filed for a divorce from Perry, citing irreconcilable differences.
And what about fellow Brit, Sir Elton John?
"Absolutely not. He wouldn't do it and he'd be really difficult to work with," Cowell told "Extra" of the legendary singer, who has recently engaged in a public feud with Madonna following his loss to her at the Golden Globes for Best Song.
