Kelly Clarkson ACM Award Winner
"American Idol" alum Kelly Clarkson has earned two American Country Music Awards in Las Vegas Sunday night.
The ceremony took place at Nevada's MGM Grand and honored today's hottest country music artists.
Clarkson's collaboration with Jason Aldean, "Don't You Wanna Stay," first earned the duo the award for Vocal Event of the Year.
"I kind of thought it needed a female vocal on it and Kelly was the first name I threw out," Aldean told the audience upon accepting the award. "And I'm really glad I did because she came in and made a great song, and just took it to a great place."
Clarkson added, "Thank y'all so much for welcoming me from the pop world!" Producer Michael Knox shared the award with Clarkson and Aldean.
"Don't You Wanna Stay" also earned the singers the ACM Award for Single Record of the Year.
