Kelly Clarkson Baby Girl Arrives, Baby Girl's Name Announced
Kelly Clarkson and husband Brandon Blackstock welcomed their first child together, a baby girl, over the weekend.
Clarkson, 32, announced her daughter's arrival as well as the name of the child via Twitter on Saturday, June 12.
"Our baby girl River Rose Blackstock arrived on June 12th," the singer posted. "Thank you everyone for all of your well wishes! Brandon and I are on cloud 9!!"
Clarkson announced her pregnancy back in November, tweeting, "I'm pregnant!!! Brandon and I are so excited! Best early Christmas present ever."
Throughout the pregnancy, Clarkson was outstpoken about the amount of morning sickness she experienced. On Jan, 20, the singer announced that she was having a girl and joked about the rough pregnancy.
"We just found out we're having a girl officially! I knew it," she wrote. "Only a girl could cause this much drama and all this vomiting!"
It comes as no surprise that the "American Idol" alum has become a mother. Last year, Clarkson gushed that becoming a stepmother to Blackstock's two children from a previous marriage has been "amazing."
"Brandon has two kids and I never wanted kids before, but now I want like five," she told Jay Leno.
Furthermore, the "Stronger" singer divulged that she wants two more children in addition to her stepchildren.
"I want to kids. Two more, that is," she said while on the "Elvis Duran and the Morning Show" last October. "I've already got two!"
Blackstock, 37, is the stepson of singer Reba McEntire through her marriage to Clarkson's manager, Narvel Blackstock. Blackstock, who is dad to 11-year-old Savannah and 7-year-old Seth, married Clarkson last October during an intimate ceremony that only saw three guests. The couple tied the knot in Tennessee at Blackberry Farms, "the most beautiful place on earth," Clarkson announced on Twitter.
"I'm officially Mrs. Blackstock," Clarkson tweeted one day after the wedding. The bride wore a lace Temperley London gown during the event.
