Kelly Clarkson on Pregnancy: 'It's Miserable!'
Make no mistake: Kelly Clarkson is thrilled to be pregnant with her first child. But, like a lot of first-time moms, she's quickly learning that pregnancy itself may not be as wonderful as she had hoped. Clarkson explained that she had been suffering from severe morning sickness during a recent interview.
"It's miserable. I'm so happy I'm pregnant! I just wish like he or she would stop trying to kill me," Clarkson told Ellen DeGeneres. "Oh my god, like it is so upsetting when I ask women because they're like, of you're going to love this, and I'm like, 'Were you sick first?' and they're like, 'No' and I want to hit all of them with my car. I vomit a good dozen times a day; it's bad!"
Clarkson and husband Brandon Blackstock announced the pregnancy via Twitter just one month after getting married in an intimate ceremony. Clarkson, though, never made any secret of the fact that she wanted to be a mom more than anything.
But pregnancy is already taking a toll, according to the singer.
"Everybody tells you [that] you glow and your hair is pretty and your nails are pretty; that is total crap. My nails are short, my hair still falls out. It's not at all lush and beautiful and I have no glow unless it's like something left over from a bad throw up. It's horrible. I'm done talking. I'm sorry," Clarkson said.
She then switched topics somewhat and spoke about the baby's gender and name. She has already predicted that she would be having a baby girl, but Clarkson admitted that she definitely and Blackstone definitely want to know the baby's sex as soon as possible.
"I just want to know and it won't even matter because honestly the name we picked if it's a boy or a girl, it's the same name. It's a random name. It's not like some weird famous person that's going to be like Blue Jazz… it's not going to be weird," she explained.
