Kelly Clarkson Wedding Plans, 'Earthy' Themes
Kelly Clarkson has revealed some ideas for her upcoming nuptials to Brandon Blackstock this week.
The "American Idol" alum began dating Blackstock last year, and the pair became engaged on Dec. 14. He is the stepson of singer Reba McEntire through her marriage to Clarkson's manager, Narvel Blackstock.
While the date is unknown, Clarkson and her fiancé are planning an outdoor and "earthy" wedding for the fall, according to People magazine.
The Grammy Award-winning singer also revealed details about the special moment when her talent manager fiancé proposed.
"I [didn't have] a d--- clue," exclaimed the "Stronger" singer speaking to People. "If I did I would have worn something besides Uggs and a sweatshirt with no bra!"
Furthermore, Clarkson admitted that before starting her relationship with Blackstock, she was lost while looking for love.
"I was dating skinny jeans and I needed Wranglers," she told the magazine. "I didn't know life could be this happy."
Shortly after telling Blackstock "yes," Clarkson took to Twitter with the news of her engagement.
"I'm ENGAGED," started the singer at the time. "I wanted y'all to know!! Happiest night of my life last night! I am so lucky and am with the greatest man ever : )"
Clarkson also included a photo of her engagement ring designed by Clarkson's fiancé and jeweler Johnathon Arndt. It features a large yellow canary diamond surrounded by smaller diamonds.
Despite having known each other for years, Clarkson and Blackstock did not end up together until last February of last year.
"Brandon is my manager's son," Clarkson once explained to the Daily Mail. "I've known him for six years but he was married. Then, suddenly, there he was at the Super Bowl and he was single."
The betrothed couple recently attended one of President Obama's Inaugural Balls in Washington, D.C. last month when Clarkson shared a photo.
"Me and Brandon in our 'fancy' attire : ) Fun night," the singer posted to Twitter.
