Kelly Osbourne Seizure: Does E! Co-host Have Epilepsy?
Kelly Osbourne is recovering in hospital after suffering a seizure and a new report claims doctors believe the E! co-host may be suffering from Epilepsy.
On Thursday 28-year-old Osbourne collapsed on-set while filming an episode for "Fashion Police," and she reportedly began to convulse in a seizure that lasted for 30 seconds. Doctors are now said to be running tests to determine whether the former reality TV star suffers from the neurological disorder.
Experts claim there is a good possibility that Osbourne may be an epileptic however this can only be confirmed through medical testing. It is still unclear what exactly caused the singer to have a fit and she has since been placed on anti-seizure medication, according to TMZ.com.
"More than anything it was just scary," co-host Melissa Rivers told ET Online after the incident. "I just laid on the ground holding on to her until the paramedics came."
Epilepsy, also commonly referred to as seizure disorder, affects a variety of physical and mental functions and often requires lifelong treatment using anticonvulsant medications.
Osbourne's mother Sharon recently thanked fans on social networking site Twitter, after receiving an outpouring of support.
"I want to thank everyone for their concern about @MissKellyO," Sharon tweeted on Friday. "She's doing fine she's at Cedars and is surrounded by the best doctors & love."
In June Osbourne's younger brother Jack was diagnosed with relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis. The 26-year-old Jack had experienced symptoms of MS for several years, including partial blindness, numbness in his legs, and bladder, bowel and stomach problems.
