Kelly Rowland Talks God Taking Her a Path Apart From Beyonce

Kelly Rowland recently spoke about God taking her on a path apart from Beyonce Knowles.

Beyonce, Rowland's friend and former Destiny's Child group member, is a chart topping singer-songwriter and actress. Still, Rowland spoke about having to grow apart from her friend.

"You have to grow. You just can't stay in one space your whole life," Rowland told Arsenio Hall on his late night talk show recently. "And you also as a woman can't expect to be on someone else's level and don't allow other people to put you on someone else's level and look at what someone else has thinking, 'Oh I want that.'"

Rowland spoke about wanting a different level of success than the friend whom she calls her sister.

"You should want your own path. I don't want my sister's path," Rowland told Hall. "I don't want nobody else's path. I want my own."

However, Rowland admitted that she had to take some time being comfortable taking her own path in life.

"But it took me a long time to figure that out. But the rest of the world is telling me something else and I'm like, 'Hmmmm'," Rowland admitted. "And I had to figure it out on my own. I like my path and I got a damn good path. God knows what he's doing."

Rowland said she thinks it is insane when people try to hold her to the same standard as Beyonce.

"The world would be boring if we all did the same thing over and over again. And I don't want to be on her (Beyonce's) level," Rowland said on the nationally syndicated Russ Parr Morning Show earlier this year. "I want my own. And Michelle wants her own. When people compare, it's just so insane to me."
