Kendra Wilkinson Bails on 'Splash,' Says Decision Will 'Haunt' Her (VIDEO)
Kendra Wilkinson stunned everyone last night when she suddenly refused to perform her routine on "Splash." She left her partner, Rory Bushfield, stranded and apologized for her refusal to participate in the dive.
"I'm so sorry, everybody," Wilkinson said after refusing to dive. "This is the first time in my life I've quit something. This will haunt me for the rest of my life." And with that, Wilkinson walked away from the celebrity competition that taught her, Louie Anderson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Brandi Chastain, Drake Bell, Nicole Eggert, Ndamukong Suh to dive.
Wilkinson had made no secret that she was afraid of heights but had managed to keep it together until last night's show.
"I just heard that 'I love you' from my son before I went in. It was the most powerful moment in my life," she previously told the Huffington Post about overcoming her fear for her first dive. She was deemed safe during that competition and continued on.
"It's not only high up but it takes full body control to get your body to do the twists and all that. Also, if you hit the water wrong, you could really get hurt, so it's a lot different than swimming," Wilkinson told the Examiner about her fear.
Fans were very disappointed with Wilkinson's decision to leave the show, and numerous messages were posted on the star's Twitter feed. She readdressed the issue and again apologized to everyone for quitting.
"Damn I got a lot of hate tonight but I'll take it," she tweeted. "Big mistake signing up for the show. Sorry I let you all down. Sorry!!! It was just so out of my league!" she later added.
Wilkinson is married to Hank Baskett and they have one son, Hank Baskett IV. She currently works as a television personality who has built her own brand and written her memoir. Wilkinson recently appeared on "Celebrity Wife Swap" and exchanged homes and lifestyles with Kate Gosselin.
