'Kerbal Space Program' Unveils New Expansion
Squad, the company behind space travel simulation "Kerbal Space Program," has just announced the first expansion to the base game, called "Making History." The new content allows players to role-play challenges adapted from real-life space missions, and even create their own.
Squad has launched the base game for "Kerbal Space Program" back in 2015 after an extended period of development, according to a feature article by Engadget. The company has since moved on from the latest 1.2.2 version of the game to start working on expanded content for the space simulator.
The game makers have just posted on their official forum an announcement for the "Kerbal Space Program: Making History Expansion" last Friday, March 17. The content expansion will feature two modules, the Mission Builder and the History Pack.

The Mission Builder will be introduced as part of "Kerbal Space Program: Making History" that will enable players to create, modify and share custom missions. According to Engadget, the interface for the Mission Builder will be easy enough to pick up and use, utilizing a simple "drag and drop" interface. Players can design and script easy missions, or create dangerous and challenging ones by putting in fuel or time limits, and even surprise events.
The History Pack will allow players to recreate the thrills and dangers of the early days of Space Exploration. The missions included in the History Pack will feature assignments inspired by the real-life space missions in the United States and Soviet space programs.
The History Pack will also feature parts adapted from the US and Soviet space programs, including "fuel tanks, adapters, decouplers, fairings and command pods" for a more realistic re-enactment, according to Neowin.
As of this time, Squad has not yet put out information on the release date or the price of "Kerbal Space Program: Making History." In any case, the new expansion will be released free to players that supported "Kerbal Space Program" by purchasing the game before April 2013, to give thanks to fans that have supported the game in its early stages.
