The "Scandal" star, 36, was surrounded by friends and family at her garden party-themed event, which was held at the home of her hit show's creator, Shonda Rhimes.
Approximately 50 guests gathered at the lavish Hancock Park property and sipped on lemonade and champagne. Among the guests was actress Jane Fonda as well as Washington's co-stars Darby Stanchfield and Katie Lowes, according to Daily Mail UK.
"She felt so loved she didn't want the day to end," a source told E! News of the actress. "She gave Shonda a huge hug and kiss before thanking her and leaving with her mom."
The Hollywood star arrived wearing a knee-length denim dress and heels as onlookers observed her burgeoning baby bump. Washington is expecting her first child with her NFL star husband Nnamdi Asomugha.
"She looked beautiful and had very little makeup on. She was with her mom Valerie and was met by several family members inside," a source said of her arrival.
"Kerry looked ecstatic to be surrounded by so many family members and friends. She loved mixing her work friends with her family and having everyone get to know each other," the insider revealed. "Shonda was very gracious to host everyone and Kerry was very appreciative."
In October, Washington, who got married in June 2013 in Hailey, Idaho, was rumored to be pregnant ahead of her "Saturday Night Live" hosting gig. She is yet to reveal the sex of her unborn baby or her due date.
"I feel like, I just feel very blessed. Life is truly extraordinary right now," she told E!'s Ryan Seacrest at the Golden Globes last month.
The notoriously private actress previously explained her decision not to openly discuss her personal life during an interview with Glamour magazine. Washington was once engaged to actor David Moscow, but the pair split in 2007 .
"I've had earlier times in my career when I did talk about [my personal life]. I was on the cover of a bridal magazine. But I couldn't just turn around and say, 'I only want to talk about the good stuff, but not the bad stuff.' So I just thought, 'OK, no more,'" she told Glamour.
"I'm walking around in the world with my ring. And when people say congratulations, I say thank you," she continued. "But I'm going to continue to not talk about it and just let it unfold."
