Kesha News: On Her Eating Disorder, 'Rainbow,' and Her Road to Recovery

Last August, pop artist Kesha released her 2017 album titled, "Rainbow." Armed with Billboard and chart-topping songs, such as "Praying," the album is known to be a remarkably personal and valiant attempt from Kesha to tell her fans and to whoever will listen about what she has had to go through to get to that point.

Recently, the singer sat down for an interview, wherein she talked about her eating disorder and the inspiration for "Rainbow."

"I was slowly, slowly starving myself. And the worse I got and the sicker I got, the better a lot of people around me were saying that I looked. They would just be like, 'Oh, my gosh, keep doing whatever you're doing! You look so beautiful, so stunning," said Kesha, in an interview with Rolling Stone. "And I am so anxious that I feel like I'm going to explode from all the secrets. All the secret times I'm pretending to eat or other times I'm purging, and I'm trying to not let anybody know."

Kesha also revealed that she felt upset with herself for letting it get out of hand before she can prevent things from going downhill. Reports also revealed that her album, "Rainbow," was one of the key reasons why she found the strength to recover. Furthermore, Kesha denied that Dr. Luke ever told her to lose weight and that he anything to do with her eating disorder.

Kesha was the center of a lawsuit in 2014 after she sued Dr. Luke, her former producer, for sexual assault. The judge at the time of the hearing two years later denied Kesha the freedom to release her music outside of his authority. Currently, the case is still in court, and it has not been resolved. However, fans and co-artists are hoping to see the end of the legal battle soon.
