Kevin Durant is receiving prayers and support from those in and around the NBA since a fracture in his foot will require him to undergo surgery and miss a portion of the 2014-2015 season.

Durant, the 26-year-old Oklahoma City Thunder forward, is suffering from a broken bone at the base of his small toe known as a "Jones fracture," according to ESPN reports.

Sam Presti, the Thunder general manager, revealed that Durant's injury was the result of wear and tear over time, and told ESPN that the team was glad that they caught it in its early stages. While Durant is expected to miss the first month of the NBA regular season to rehabilitate his injury, players in and around the league have been praying for him.

Durant's teammate, OKC shooting guard Anthony Morrow, 29, took to Twitter to wish the injured forward well.

"Praying for a speedy recovery for my brother @KDTrey5, one of the toughest and most competitive guys I know #ThunderUP," Morrow wrote.

"In regard to replacing a player like Kevin Durant, you don't replace Kevin Durant. It's not going to be one person….I think Kevin is at his best when he has to experience something different. I think he'll find something good from this," he added.

While Dwight Howard competes against Durant in the Western conference, the 28-year-old Houston Rockets center said he would pray for the injured star.

"I'll pray for him. I pray he doesn't have any other type of injury. I pray he has a speedy recovery," Howard told the Houston Chronicle. "I know the people in OKC and the fans are sad right now, but luckily he won't miss the remainder of the season... He's young, he has God on his side and we are all going to be praying for him."

While Durant is expected to be out of commission for six to eight weeks, he seemed unbothered by the matter on Twitter.

"It's all good. Thanks for the love," he tweeted. "I'll be fine, it's a great year to be a thunder as the great @ROYALTIVEY would say."
