Kevin Durant Shares Love For Christian WNBA Fiancee Monica Wright

Kevin Durant does not speak about his love life often, but the Oklahoma City Thunder forward is opening up about his pride for fiancee Monica Wright who recently won the 2013 WNBA Championship.

Durant, 25, bragged about his girlfriend Wright, the 25-year-old Minnesota Lynx guard, after she earned her recent championship ring.

"I was proud of how she helped her team win a championship. It was kind of tears of joy," Durant said, according to the Oklahoman's Darnell Mayberry. "I'm glad she's my future wife. She's got more championships than I do."

Durant made sure to take to his own Twitter account to express support for right.

"So happy for the Minnesota Lynx," Durant tweeted. "I'm so proud of you @monnie22!! Yessirrrrr. (SIC)"

When one fan attempted to poke fun at the fact that Durant has yet to win an NBA championship while his future wife has, the NBA star took the jest in stride.

"Bruh how you feel knowing that your girl bout to win a ring before you," one fan questioned on Twitter before Durant responded, "I love it!!! She's the better player anyway."

Kent Youngblood, a sports writer for StarTribune.com broke the news on Twitter about Wright confirming that she was engaged to Durant last July.

"Post-game Monica Wright confirmed reports that she and Kevin Durant are engaged. So there's that," Youngblood tweeted.

The pair reportedly met during the 2006 McDonald's High School All-American Game, according to USA Today reports. Wright shares the name of the fictional basketball playing main character in the 2000 film "Love & Basketball."

Durant previously made reference to the film when speaking about his future love interest in a 2011 tweet.

"..Maybe I need a basketball playing girlfriend...hmmm lol...monica wright where r u(love n basketball) (SIC)," Durant tweeted.

It seems the two Christian athletes have found their way to one another and Wright even took to her Instagram account to share her a photograph with herself and Durant while captioning it with the lyrics to Katy Perry's song, "Teenage Dream."

"You think I'm pretty without any makeup on you think I'm funny when I tell the punchline wrong I know you get me so I let my walls come down," Wright wrote. "Before you met me I was alright but things were kinda heavy you brought me to life now every February you'll be my Valentine.' Katy Perry said it best!"
