Keyshia Cole Reacts to The Dream Blackballing Her After Beyonce Diss

Keyshia Cole, the singer-songwriter, seems unfazed that songwriter and producer Terius "The Dream" Nash is refusing to work with the California native after she spoke out against his friend and collaborator Beyonce Knowles.

Cole, 31, spoke out against Knowles, also 31, after the latter released a song "Bow Down" that some considered demeaning to women. However, The Dream thought Cole's Twitter rant against Knowles took things too far and said he refused to work with the former as a result.

"Right now because of what happened I can't and I think she would respect why I can't. That's my family," The Dream told New York City radio show "The Breakfast Club" on Power 105.1 recently. "You have a grown up conversation you know, 'You're talking about my family and you can't do that.'"

Cole took to Twitter to criticize Knowles earlier this month after the latter's lyrics seemed to speak negatively about other women.

"First 'women need to stick together' now (expletives) bow. Smh," Cole tweeted about Knowles' song. "But when I speak my mind its a prob. #Well #StayMad...Can't stand when people all self righteous when it's convenient it makes them look good."

After hearing that The Dream may no longer work with her following her criticism of Knowles, Cole also took to Twitter to react.

"Dream not writing any songs for me is fine... I'm on my 6th album," Cole tweeted Wednesday. "He's only wrote 1 song on 1 of my albums, which i did love, God Bless."

Knowles used profane lyrics to refer to women in her latest release, filled with more expletives than the singer's fans are used to hearing come from the Houston, Texas., native.

"I took my time to live my life but don't think I'm just his little wife / Don't get it twisted, get it twisted / This is my (expletive)," Knowles sings on her latest release.

The chorus of the song follows up with the singer spouting expletives at her critics.

"Bow down, (expletives)," Knowles sings repeatedly.

Still, The Dream defended his friend Knowles when it came to her latest musical release.

"I think she said exactly what she wanted to say. I think when you're at the top and you're the pop icon of this culture….She got something off her chest that she wanted to get off," The Dream said on the Breakfast Club radio show. "The first time I heard it, we were in the studio. And you know, I was loving it."
