Kim Jong Un Grease Photos? Pics More Likely Elder Brother Kim Jong Chol (VIDEO)
Photos allegedly showing Kim Jong Un performing in a production of "Grease" have gone viral after a British tabloid newspaper published a series of photos it claims show the North Korean dictator during his time at a Swiss boarding school.
Among the photos published by British newspaper, The Sun, is one allegedly of Kim Jong Un performing in a production of "Grease," a popular American musical set in the 1950s about high school romance.
Despite the newspaper's claims, however, other publications have remained skeptical about whether the photos are indeed of Kim.
The Washington Post has highlighted how The Sun's claims over the timeline of the photos do not match other reports about Kim.
The Sun's report claims that the photos show Kim at the International School of Berne at some point between 1994 and 1997, when he would have been between 11 and 14 years old.
It is widely believed that Kim's birthday is Jan. 8, 1983, which would make him between 11 and 14 on those dates, but those would not have been the years he was at a Switzerland school.
Kim is known to have attended a Swiss boarding school from 1998 to 2000, at the ages of 15 to 17. Those who knew him at the school have said that he had his own apartment near the campus; not likely for an 11 to 14 year old, the Washington Post highlights.
The Sun also identifies the school as the International School of Berne, but Kim went to the Liebefeld-Steinhölzli Schule, which is only near Bern.
The Washington Post has therefore claimed that the photos could in fact be those of Jim Jong Un's brother, Kim Jong Chol. He also went to a Swiss boarding school thought to be the the International School of Berne. The brothers went to Switzerland to study at different times, and as Kim Jong Chol is the elder sibling it is highly likely his timeline matches the photos more than the North Korean dictator's.
