Kim Kanye Name Change To Follow Wedding
Kim Kardashian will change her famous last name following her upcoming marriage to Kanye West, the star said Tuesday.
Dating since last year and parents to four-month-old North, Kardashian and West got engaged on Kardashian's 33rd birthday on Oct. 21.
Ever since, details about their wedding and which traditions the pair will follow have been revealed, including that Kardashian will take her husband's name.
"I will," she told E! News. "Kim Kardashian West, no hyphen. Make it [Kardashian] the middle."
Kardashian's actual middle name is Noel, but the reality star has not addressed if she will keep that.
When it comes to actually planning the wedding, Kardashian said what few brides have said before- that she is leaving the work to the groom.
"As far as wedding stuff, we haven't even talked about anything- it's been such a whirlwind," said the model, according to E! "We need like a moment to relax and figure it all out. I'm going to leave this up to him. Whatever he wants."
Furthermore, West revealed that the nuptials will take place "sometime next summer," before the rapper gushed about his bride-to-be.
However, the wedding will undoubtedly be over the top since West's proposal alone was incredibly lavish. The rap star proposed to Kardashian after flying her family and friends to San Francisco's AT&T Park, organizing a 50-piece orchestra, and presenting his girlfriend with a "flawless" custom-designed 15-cara diamond ring before fireworks exploded in the sky.
"I only got two words in my mind; and that's fighter jets," the Grammy Award winner said to L.A. radio station Power 106 while talking about his upcoming wedding.
Meanwhile, the wedding will be West's first, while it will mark Kardashian's third. The reality television star was married to NBA player Kris Humphries in 2011 for just 72 days. Their lengthy divorce proceedings finally concluded last June.
Kardashian was also married to music producer Damon Thomas, but the marriage ended in 2004.
