Kim Kardashian Agrees to Kris Humphries Annulment? Kris Jenner Objecting
Kim Kardashian is reportedly slowly giving in to her estranged husband Kris Humphries' requests for an annulment, but Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner is allegedly opposed to the idea.
The reality TV star, who is expecting her first child with boyfriend Kanye West, is reportedly "seeing red" over Humphries' refusal to sign divorce papers that she served him with over a year ago. She is said to be contemplating fulfilling the NBA star's request for an annulment, but her mother fears that it will damage the Kardashian brand, according to RadarOnline.com.
"Kim has made it known that she is ready to give Kris an annulment because she just wants to move on with her life," a source told Radar. "If she doesn't give an annulment, Kim will be forced to testify at a trial after her baby is born this summer, which is the last thing she will want to do."
Humphries, 28, is reportedly insisting on an annulment of their 72-day marriage based on fraud as he allegedly believes that Kardashian only married him for financial gain and to boost publicity for the family's E! reality show.
"The only way that this case won't go to trial is if Kim publicly apologizes to Kris and admits that she only married him for television ratings," a source close to Humphries previously said.
Kardashian, 32, now reportedly wants to marry West, 35, particularly because they are expecting a child together however she cannot do so because she is still legally tied to Humphries.
"Kim's baby daddy, Kanye West, doesn't understand why she hasn't already just given Kris the annulment. [Jenner] ... is adamantly protesting her daughter's idea because of the possible ramifications it could have for the Kardashian empire," the source said.
"Kris is concerned about the negative press and criticism Kim will get if she goes through with it. Kris' main concern is how E! would react to Kim's decision since the network aired their wedding special," the source went on.
Kardashian, who has been dating West for a year, is currently planning a commitment ceremony with the rapper, according to reports. The pair will allegedly exchange vows and wedding rings before family and friends in an unofficial wedding ceremony as a token of their love.
"Kanye is very traditional. He'd have liked to marry Kim now they are having a baby but with Kim still married to someone else, there is not much he can do," a source told The Sun U.K., adding that "one of Kim's friends is lending them his [$11 million] Malibu beach mansion and the entire bash will take place there ... it'll be a lot more low-key than a wedding."
