Kim Kardashian Attends Oscars Bash; Denies Being Banned From A-List Vanity Fair Party (PHOTO)
Kim Kardashian recently denied a report claiming she was banned from attending the Vanity Fair Oscars party.
The reality TV star, 33, was photographed at Elton John's annual Aids Foundation Oscar party on Sunday while A-list stars such as Kate Hudson and Leonardo DiCaprio attended Vanity Fair's more elite party, but her rep insists that this was by choice. Insiders claimed Kardashian's camp made inquiries to the Vanity Fair party host Graydon Carter with the hope that the E! star could score an invite to the highly anticipated event and that she was in essence turned away.
"This is absolutely false," a rep for Kardashian told Daily Mail U.K. "Didn't get back to her people? Our company works with Vanity Fair on the party. A request to attend was NEVER made so it could not have been denied."
Kardashian attended John's more low-key Oscars event with her mother Kris Jenner and sisters Kourtney and Khloe. She appeared happy and relaxed despite rumors about her being banned by Carter.
"Kim had been hoping to get an invite to the Vanity Fair party ... It's the hottest party during the entire award season and Kim desperately wanted to go," a source told RadarOnline.com.
"Kim's camp had made inquiries to the Vanity Fair party host Graydon Carter about whether she'd make the list. He never got back to her people! It wasn't ever going to ever happen," the source continued. "Everyone knows Vanity Fair is strictly A-list only, which means, no reality stars. It would have been a circus if Kim along with her mom and sisters went to the party."
The report comes one month after insiders claimed another publication declined to be affiliated with Kardashian.
For years fashion insiders have claimed Vogue magazine Editor-In-Chief Anna Wintour, who is a highly respected figure in the fashion industry, dislikes Kardashian. She is said to be open to the idea of putting the reality star on the cover of the French or Italian editions of Vogue magazine, but the U.S. edition is out of the question.
"Anna is no fan of Kim or any reality star appearing in the pages of the magazine," a source said previously. "There would still be some backlash if Anna allowed that to happen, but not as much if Kim were to appear on the U.S. edition."
Kardashian's fiance Kanye West previously expressed concerns about Vogue allegedly snubbing the E! star during an interview with radio host Ryan Seacrest, who helped make Kardashian a star.
"There is no way Kim Kardashian shouldn't be on the cover of Vogue. She is the most intriguing woman right now. She has got Barbara Walters calling her like every day," West boasted.
