Kim Kardashian, Kanye West Fighting Over Baby's Last Name Ahead of Wedding?
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are reportedly at odds over their unborn baby amid claims that the reality TV star wants the baby to be a Kardashian.
West, 33, reportedly wants to follow tradition by having the couple's first child take his last name however Kardashian, 31, is allegedly determined to create her own rules. She reportedly wants the baby's last name to be Kardashian, which has become a lucrative household name.
"Kim told him she'll always be a Kardashian, Kanye is very disappointed and upset about the whole thing, but Kim is refusing to budge," a source reportedly told Star magazine.
"She also thinks it's a way to let him know that she is not after him for his money," the source continued.
The report follows claims that the couple of one year is currently planning to have a commitment ceremony ahead of the baby's birth. Kardashian, who is still legally married to NBA star Kris Humphries, is unable to marry West legally so the pair is reportedly settling for an unofficial ceremony.
"Kanye is very traditional. He'd have liked to marry Kim now they are having a baby but with Kim still married to someone else, there is not much he can do," a source told The Sun U.K.
The pair will exchange vows and rings during their unofficial wedding and it will reportedly be held in Malibu. Afterwards guests will celebrate their union at a lavish reception, which will take place at a private beach mansion in Malibu.
"They will still exchange rings they just won't wear them on their wedding fingers. One of Kim's friends is lending them his [$11 million] Malibu beach mansion and the entire bash will take place there," the source explained. "It'll be a lot more low-key than a wedding."
It has been claimed that Kardashian could still be legally married to Humphries when she gives birth in July which has added ridicule to ongoing criticism about the reality star having an out-of-wedlock pregnancy. The stress of her ongoing divorce battle with Humphries is reportedly starting to take a physical toll on her pregnancy.
The reality TV star recently sought medical advice after experiencing severe pains, and a doctor allegedly concluded that stress from her divorce was the root cause. Experts now fear that the stress could pose "long-term effects" on her unborn child, according to TMZ.com.
