Kim Kardashian, Kanye West Wedding: Reality Star's Dress Will Resemble Kate Middleton's?
Kim Kardashian has reportedly sought inspiration from Kate Middleton for her upcoming wedding to Kanye West.
The reality TV star, 33, will reportedly design her wedding dress similar to Middleton's royal wedding gown. Middleton, 31, made waves in 2011 with her Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen gown worn during her royal wedding to Prince William.
"Kim is absolutely obsessed with everything Kate and William do. She considers her own family 'American Royalty,'" a source told Grazia magazine.
"Kim loves Kate's style and while she is planning on several gowns for her big day, she wants the one for the ceremony to look something like Kate's dress," the insider revealed. "The brief is demure princess and she'll also wear a tiara."
Last year Kardashian, who has been accused by critics of copying Middleton's fashion style, expressed her desire to meet the Duchess. The reality TV star was in the U.K. promoting the Kardashian Kollection clothing line at the time and she was eager to set up a lunch date with Middleton as she is a big fan of the Duchess.
"We'd love to [see Kate Middleton], are you kidding?" Kardashian told Life & Style magazine about Middleton whilst referring to her sisters Khloe and Kourtney. "We all love her! I'd call her up and ask her to lunch. She's amazing."
On October 21 Kardashian was left stunned when West, 36, unexpectedly proposed in a lavish setting. The "Bound 2" rapper rented out an entire baseball stadium at AT&T Park in San Francisco and flew 100 of Kardashian's close friends and family in before asking for her hand in marriage in front of a 50 piece orchestra.
In a recent interview West confirmed that he intends to wed the reality TV star in the Summer of 2014 and a source claims the affair may be broadcast around the world just like the Duke and Duchess of Cambrdidge's 2011 nuptials. The outspoken rapper revealed that he is planning to feature fighter jets on his big day.
"Kanye wants it broadcast around the globe," a source told VH1's "The Gossip Table" about the upcoming wedding. "He wants it to be a National holiday, a day when everyone can take time off to celebrate the world's most famous couple."
William and Middleton's 2011 royal wedding was reportedly broadcast live in more than 180 countries, and an estimated 300 million viewers tuned in worldwide, according to sources.
West, who shares a 6-month-old daughter with Kardashian, is reportedly hoping to achieve the same level of interest.
"I gotta apologize to the race of males for turning up so much," West told Power 106's Big Boy adding that he "was nervous a little bit" about the proposal, and "about everything being on cue."
