Kim Kardashian Remembers Father During Wedding
TV personality and socialite Kim Kardashian married basketball player boyfriend Kris Humphries in an extravagant 450 guest wedding in Montecito, California last Saturday.
During her nuptials, Kardashian paid tribute to her late father, Robert Kardashian, who died in 2003 of esophageal cancer.
The wedding programs given to guests included a short message from Kardashian about her father.
"I so wish my dad could be here today to walk me down the aisle," she wrote. "But in a way I know he is here and I feel his loving presence all around me.
"I love you and miss you dad."
Attorney and businessman Robert Kardashian was best known for representing former football player O. J. Simpson in his trial for which he was accused and acquitted of murdering wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman.
The Kardashian family has previously reported that Robert died eight weeks after being diagnosed with esophageal cancer.
Kim's stepfather, Bruce Jenner walked her down the isle in her father's place.
The wedding is being considered the American royal wedding and it is reported that Khloe Kardashian said the nuptials would be "royal wedding number two,” upon hearing news of her sister's engagement.
The day before the wedding, Khloe Kardashian took to Twitter to express her feelings about her sister's wedding.
“Since we were little girls, you have been dreaming about your perfect, fairytale wedding, and today we all get to watch as those dreams become your perfect reality," she said.
"Watching you, the ultimate believer in true love, fall head over heels for your prince charming has been so special for everyone who knows and loves you. You deserve everything wonderful in the world, and I have no doubt that you will get exactly that after you walk down the aisle tonight."
