Kim Kardashian rarely smiles in pictures because it causes wrinkles.
Kim Kardashian posed for several photos and did not smile during the holiday bash of Kris Jenner. The reality star only smiled in one photo and explained on Instagram the story behind it.
Kardashian posted the black and white photo of her and a friend and captioned: "See I do smile... even laugh on occasion. Not too often though because it causes wrinkles @shammaurice."

Before her confirmation, there were several speculations as to why Kardashian rarely smiles in pictures. Rumors say that the reality star is "too cool to smile" while others say that Kanye West told her not to.
Prior to dating the rapper, the reality star smiled at events she attended. After she met West, the media noticed Kim sporting a sultry stare rather than a smiling face. A source reportedly revealed to British magazine "Grazia" that West is behind his wife's sudden change.
"Kanye can be very controlling with everything in his life, that's his personality. He wants Kim to be perfect. In the old days, you'd always see Kim smiling when she was having her photo taken. But now more often than not she'll be stony-faced," the source said.
Aside from that, Kardashian reportedly consults her husband when it comes to fashion choices. People noticed that Kardashian's style changed to high-fashion. The source added that the reality star is reportedly dependent on West even on small things.
"It seems even when he's not around she can't make decisions. Kim will call him to check she's buying the right brand of water. She can't even pick her own nail varnish without checking with him," the source said.
As if to seal their entrance to the high-fashion world, the couple snagged a photo shoot with the haute couture fashion house Balmain. The pair starred in #TheBalmainLove campaign Spring/Summer collection. In the high-profile shoot, the couple is not smiling as well.
