Kim Kardashian Slam 'Not Personal,' Says Jon Hamm
Jon Hamm of "Mad Men" has clarified that his comments about Kim Kardashian were "not personal" on Tuesday.
The actor named Kardashian while speaking to the U.K.'s Elle magazine saying the reality star contributed to "stupidity" becoming popular in today's culture.
"We're at a place where the idea of being 'elite' is somehow considered a negative," said Hamm speaking to Elle. "Whether it's Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian or whoever, stupidity is certainly celebrated."

While at the PaleyFest panel on Tuesday, Hamm admitted surprise over the media firestorm that resulted from his comments about Kardashian.
"It's surprising to me that it has become remotely a story," said the actor, who portrays Don Draper on AMC's "Man Men."
Hamm continued to explain, "I don't know Ms. Kardashian, I know her public persona," according to E! News.
His comments to Elle also included his feeling that "being a f----- idiot" is something that earns reality stars acclaim in our society, whereas intelligence does not."
Further clarifying the comments, Hamm said Tuesday, "What I said was meant to be more on a pervasiveness of something in our culture, not personal, but she took offense to it and that is her right."
When the actor's remarks became widely publicized early this week, Kardashian responded via Twitter.
"I respect Jon and I am a firm believer that everyone is entitled to their opinion and that not everyone takes the same path in life," wrote the "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star.
"We're all working hard and we all have to respect one another," continued the 31-year-old. "Calling someone who runs their own business, is part of a successful TV show, produces, writes, designs, and creates 'stupid,' is in my opinion careless."
Hamm will appear in the two-hour long highly anticipated premiere of "Mad Men" season five on March 25. The hit television series airs Sundays on AMC at 9 p.m. EST.
The actor will also appears film "Friends With Kids" in theaters now.
The fifth season, which arrives after almost a year and a half hiatus, will also see the Emmy Award-winning cast that includes January Jones, Elizabeth Moss, Christina Hendricks, John Slattery, and many others.
