Kim Kardashian Tells Oprah Winfrey of Depression After Divorcing Kris Humphries
Reality television star Kim Kardashian opened up in a candid two-part interview with Oprah Winfrey on Sunday during an episode of "Oprah's Next Chapter," telling the talk show host that she had suffered a deep depression following her highly public divorce from NBA star Kris Humphries last fall.
"I was in love, I wanted the life that I always pictured my fairytale life to be," she told the talk show host of why she married Humphries in a lavish summer wedding.
"I think when people first meet, everything is great in the beginning. But I didn't spend more than a while week with my ex before we married. When we moved in together. I saw how our relationship was … I don't want to get into the small things, but once we moved in, I knew he was not the one," Kardashian told Winfrey.
"I was in such a deep depression I thought I was going to back away from it all," the reality star added.
Kardashian also told the talk show host that Humphries will "always have a place in her heart" and said that her decision to end the 72-day marriage was "embarrassing" but that she has no regrets.
"He's a good person. I will always have a place in my heart for him. It just wasn't for me," she said. "For anyone I hurt, I'm truly sorry, I don't wish pain on anyone, but the person I am because of that crazy experience, I wouldn't change it for the world. I loved him, obviously it hurt him, and it hurt me too. It was embarrassing, I don't want to call it a mistake, it was a lesson."
In another interview, with all four of the Kardashian children, Winfrey also asked the Kardashians about claims that their mother was exploiting them, to which Kim Kardashian responded that using their mother as their manager is the best choice.
"No one will fight harder for you than your mother," Kardashian told Winfrey.
The second part of Winfrey's candid two-part interview with the Kardashian family will air next Sunday, June 24 on OWN.
