Kindle Fire HD 2013 Model Spotted in Benchmarks, Device Specs Revealed
The Kindle Fire HD 2013 model was spotted in benchmarks this week where some of the device's specs were revealed.
The GFX bench entry was discovered earlier this week by the Italian site Webtrek. The tablet appeared in the system with the codename Apollo/KFAPWA. The device featured a display with 2570x1600 resolution and ran an OS based on Android 4.2.2, JellyBean. It also came with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC with Adreno 330 GPU.
The screen size of the tablet was not revealed in the report.

Another recent report revealed that the new Kindle Fire HD would use the Snapdragon 800 SoC and come with 2GB RAM and 16/32/64GB of storage. Both reports confirmed Android 4.2.2 as the software and the older one stated that the 7-inch model would come with a 1920x1200 resolution display. The version in the new report is most likely the 8.9-inch model. The device is also expected to come with an 8-megapixel camera.
The Kindle Fire HD 7-inch model price dropped to just $160 after the release of the Nexus 7 2013 version.
Amazon has been slashing prices on its popular gadget in recent weeks in wake of the competition, according to a report from Gizmodo.
The offer is only available for a limited time so those interested in getting a high-quality 7-inch tablet should jump on this deal quick. The device normally retails for $199. The company is expected to unveil a new version in the coming months that will compete better with the Nexus 7 and upcoming iPad mini 2.
Amazon is most likely attempting to clear out its inventory before it drops the new version later this fall. The prices on the Kindle Fire HD might drop even lower in the coming weeks.
