'Kingdom Hearts 3': Which Settings Will Be Featured?

City of Thebes in Olympus will likely be one of the locations 'Kingdom Hearts 3' players will see

"Kingdom Hearts" games are known for featuring interesting worlds and environments that are just begging to be explored. And in "Kingdom Hearts 3," fans can expect to see more of these locations yet again.

Unfortunately, the full list of worlds set to be included in the eagerly anticipated sequel has not been revealed at this time, but there are ones already known.

Just recently, a screenshot of the game shared by the developers garnered plenty of attention as it showed protagonist Sora squaring off against an enormous opponent.

Intimidating as the opponent may be, and intriguing as the potential battle could become, the setting included in the screenshot could be just as important for fans to know.

The name of the location was revealed during a recent interview that Famitsu conducted with director Tetsuya Nomura. According to the translation of the interview provided by Gematsu, the location featured in the screenshot is the City of Thebes in Olympus.

Intentionally or not, it seems that Olympus is one of the locations in "Kingdom Hearts 3" that developers may have already worked on a lot previously. Two screenshots released by the developers last year even showcased Sora practicing his Guard Form while paying a visit to Mt. Olympus.

Other worlds that players can expect to see inside the game are ones that belong to the films "Big Hero 6" and "Tangled."

While players may be glad to know that there are new yet familiar worlds coming to the sequel, they should also know that certain types of worlds may not be added.

Specifically, players hoping that more worlds from the "Final Fantasy" series will be featured may be a bit disappointed.

As co-director Tai Yasue told GameSpot last year, "We're not adding any Final Fantasy worlds."

Hopefully for fans, the worlds that do end up in the game will do more than enough to make up for the lack of settings inspired by the "Final Fantasy" franchise.

More news about the worlds that may be included in "Kingdom Hearts 3" should be made available in the near future.
