'Kingdom Hearts 3' Release Date News: No March Outing for Game
"Kingdom Hearts 3" was expected to be released this month, but Square Enix has already said that fans will not see the game materialize this March or anytime soon for that matter.
The highly anticipated game is still deep in production and it will be a long while before any footage from the game will be shown by the developer.
This is what "Kingdom Hearts 3" director Tetsuya Nomura pointed out during his interview with Famitsu (translated by Gematsu).
"While I can't make a sweeping statement because the development process is different from what we've done so far, there are still worlds untouched," he revealed.
"Production is progressing on unannounced worlds, in a state that we cannot show them off. In terms of the state of development, there is still some way to go," he went on to say.
Nomura hinted in the same interview that fans will see a bit more of "Kingdom Hearts 3" later this year. He kept his word with a new screenshot from the game, which showed a boss battle between Heartless and Sora.
"This year I want to show our progress at an event somewhere. The release of the titles themselves have still have a way to go," the game director explained.
Information about "Kingdom Hearts 3" was scarce last year, which Nomura recognized, as Square Enix wanted to focus on its titles that were on the horizon. This is why the focus was on "Final Fantasy 15" last year.
They also did not want the highly-anticipated title to take away the spotlight from the compilation game, "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue."
Now, Square Enix is hard at work to put "Kingdom Hearts 3" together. From the looks of it, the game will not see the light of day this year, save for some teases in the form of screenshots. Other than that, fans are looking at a long wait for the game.
