KingsFest Festival Mixes Theme Parks and Christian Music
With the Fourth of July just ending, KingsFest Festival is gearing up for its three-day concert series.
Held July 5-7, the event will draw thousands of fans from all around the east coast to the 400-acre Kings Dominion theme park and feature some of the best Christian artists.
The event is tailored to church groups and Christians who are looking for a time of fellowship on the Independence Day weekend.
"I have tickets to Kingsfest and can't wait!" posted a fan, "Tabby80," at a Jeremy Camp forum. "I've been [there] the past several years, and it is awesome!"
Christian bands from all around the United States will be performing at the festival. Some names include Jeremy Camp, Newsboys, Casting Crowns, tobyMac, David Crowder Band, Kutless, Hawk Nelson, and Falling Up. Surprisingly, this may be the only festival this summer that Skillet is not attending.
With the price of admission, all people are also welcome to the Paramount's Kings Dominion theme park and its accompanying Waterworks Waterpark. All concerts will be held at the Kingswood Amphitheatre.
Promoters feel that the event will be a powerful and rejuvenating experience for both Christians and non-Christians.
The theme of the festival is "Experience the music! Worship with thousands! Make new friends! Change your life!"
The theme park is located in Doswell, Va., about 20 miles north of Richmond, Va., and boasts the largest collection of coasters and rides in the region.
Festivities will kick off at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
