Kirk Cameron Ends Successful Year of 'Love Worth Fighting For' Tour

Actor and outspoken evangelical Christian Kirk Cameron has had his fair share of media attention in 2012, including the release of his documentary "Monumental", the release of his DVD set "Boy's Passage, Man's Journey", and lastly, a successful year as a featured speaker on the "Love Worth Fighting For" tour.

"We are proud of the success that the Love Worth Fighting For tour has seen this year," Cameron said in a press release announcing the year's end to the tour.

"We're excited to enter into the tour's fifth year in 2013 and sharing the message with more people across the nation," the married father of six added.

The purpose of the tour, which stopped in 30 U.S. cities and drew more than 65,000 people in 2012, is to encourage and strengthen all marriages, as well as offer marital guidance for those engaged or looking to be engaged some time in the future.

Additionally, the tour seeks to focus on all relationships, predominately one's relationship with God.

The premise of the tour stems from the storyline of "Fireproof", a 2008 film in which Cameron plays a firefighter who seeks to spend 40 days saving his wilting marriage.

"We have taken that movie and made it into a live event," Cameron previously told Leesburg Today, adding that the experience the tour provides will be "a mixture of music, of honesty, personal stories, along with some deep insight and teaching from the Bible on the subject of the most important relationship on the planet."

The event also features musical guest Warren Barfield, who wrote the theme song to "Fireproof", entitled "Love Is Not a Fight".

The tour is sponsored by Feed Your Faith ministries and works in partnership with Food for the Hungry, a nonprofit organization which seeks to provide relief and development organization internationally.

Cameron, who starred in the 1980s sitcom "Growing Pains" and has been married to Chelsea Noble for 21 years, will continue speaking at the tour in 2013, when it will visit cities in Oklahoma, Missouri, Texas, Alabama, Tennessee and Indiana.
