Kirk Franklin Brings Rebirth to the Small Screen with New DVD Release
Multi-award-winning Gospo Centric recording artist Kirk Franklin recently released the video companion to his most recent CD project, The Rebirth of Kirk Franklin, which was certified Gold by the RIAA three weeks following its release earlier this year.
The project captures the attributes that brought Franklin to national prominence—his gift as a worship leader and choir director, and his heart for serving and ministering through "church music." Mostly recorded live at Houston's Lakewood Church and available in both VHS and DVD formats, The Rebirth of Kirk Franklin video features songs from The Rebirth of Kirk Franklin CD, along with other music clips and performances. Joining Franklin is an impressive roster of special guests including Bishop T.D. Jakes, Pastor Shirley Caesar, Crystal Lewis and Donnie McClurkin. The DVD format of the video also contains extensive bonus material including behind-the-scenes footage, music video clips and never-before-seen performances.
Franklin, a three-time Grammy award winner and multi-platinum artist, has received five 2003 Stellar Awards nominations, including Artist of the Year. He recently joined legendary evangelist Reverend Billy Graham for the Metroplex Mission in Dallas, TX where the crowd of over 82,000 set a new record at Texas Stadium. Franklin is currently touring with Yolanda Adams and Donnie McClurkin on the Hopeville Tour.
