Korean 'Power Rangers' Spinoff News: Trailer For 'Power Rangers: Dino Force Brave' Dropped

South Korea is set to debut its first "Super Sentai" spinoff this year, and the trailer for the upcoming project has just been dropped. The spinoff will act as a follow-up to the 2013 "Super Sentai" series, "Zyuden Sentai Kyoruyger."

The trailer reveals that the sequel series will not just be a simple remake of the original "Super Sentai." Apparently, six new characters will make up the intergalactic team in the Korean version. It also looks like the sequel will introduce new suits and zords for the superheroes.

"Power Rangers: Dino Force Brave" will continue the Japanese show that will also be adapted into "Power Rangers: Dino Charge" in the West. The Korean-dubbed edition marks Daewon's first time to own the rights to distributing "Sentai" and the "Power Rangers" franchise in Korea, so fans can expect the spinoff to feature new actors.

As for its plot, "Dino Force Brave" is reportedly not a direct adaptation of the Japanese original but a "next generation" sort of thing. Aesthetics-wise, the superheroes look a lot like the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers of the '90s with their bulky costumes, only now they have been updated to CGI.

Details about the new characters remain scarce, but the trailer hints that the robots will still fall into their old distinct and silly archetypes. The character descriptions released by Tokunation reveal that the Brave Red Dino is a dragon child and a successor of a trustworthy leader, the Brave Black Dino is strict but has a kind heart, the Brave Blue Dino is a handsome and athletic boy, the Brave Green Dino solves problems with money, the Brave Pink Dino is kind but selfish, and the Brave Gold Dino is a mysterious warrior.

"Power Rangers: Dino Force" is set to premiere on April 1 and will run for 12 episodes.
