Kris Humphries Mocks Kim Kardashian Running for Mayor
Kim Kardashian's recent announcement of her plans to run for mayor has brought about rebuke from her estranged husband Kris Humphries, who has reportedly slammed her political aspirations as just another "publicity" stunt.
"I decided I'm going to run for the mayor of Glendale!" Kardashian was seen telling her sister Khloe on the reality TV show "Khloe and Lamar" adding "Noelle [Keshishian] is going to head my campaign, but it's going to be in five years."
Humphries, 27, reportedly thinks that Kardashian, whom he was married to for just 72 days before she abruptly filed for divorce, will simply say and do anything to maintain her fame status, according to Radar Online.
"Kris was told about Kim's plans to become mayor of Glendale as it was making news yesterday. He doesn't watch any of the Kardashian reality shows on E!, but he is telling his friends that he isn't surprised that Kim said that because he feels there isn't anything she wouldn't do as she is so publicity hungry," a source close to Humphries told Radar.
Kardashian, 31, was seen detailing her plans to establish a mayoral campaign in a recent clip from the E! reality show.
"I have to buy a house there [because] you have to have residency. Noelle and I are looking into all the requirements and she's going to help me with my campaign, because it's like Armenian town. I need to wait, like, five years," Kardashian told Khloe.
Humphries, who has accused Kardashian of using him in marriage for financial gain, is unable to take her plans seriously and thinks that her sudden interest in politics is definitely not genuine.
"It's just ridiculous and sad to him that Kim is so fixated on fame and celebrity. There is no way that Kim would ever move to Glendale though, she complained whenever she had to stay at Kris' condominium in Hoboken, New Jersey. Kim said that Hoboken wasn't exciting enough for her," the source explained.
The NBA star is not the only celebrity to mock Kardashian's decision to run for mayor, as actor Michael Clarke Duncan laughed hysterically when asked about his thoughts on the reality star possibly becoming mayor.
Kardashian was quick to elaborate on her political aspirations, as a representative immediately attempted to explain the reasons behind her interest in politics.
"Kim has always looked for opportunities to grow and also do what she can to help and support the Armenian community. She's learning more about ways in which she can help to do her part to make a difference in the community," Kardashian's rep said in a statement to Us Magazine.
