Kris Jenner Banned From Met Gala, 'Concerned' About Way Kanye Treats Kim?
Kris Jenner was reportedly banned from the Met Gala, it has been claimed, despite her daughter Kim Kardashian scoring an invitation through her boyfriend Kanye West.
Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, who hosted the May 6 event, reportedly demanded that no reality TV stars be granted access to the exclusive fashion event. Kardashian, 31, was reportedly previously banned by Wintour but was able to attend because her boyfriend Kanye West performed.
"Anna approves every star who enters and although she finally relented on Kim, she drew the line at Kris, who was desperate to attend," a source told RadarOnline.com.
"Anna wants a parade of stars at the gala, not a parade of reality stars!" the source said adding "one Kardashian is enough!"
Fans of Kardashian hailed West for his ability to convince Wintour to invite the reality TV star to the Met Gala, but Jenner is said to be far from impressed with the rapper. West, 35, has been living in Paris since February while Kardashian, who is seven months pregnant, has remained in Los Angeles which has fueled split reports in recent weeks.
"The Kardashian family members, particularly Kim's mom Kris Jenner, are growing increasingly concerned about how Kanye treats Kim," a source revealed while also referencing Kardashian's sisters Kourtney and Khloe.
"Kris is also concerned about how Kanye acts around the paparazzi. The Kardashians have made their names off the back of being photographed, but Kanye has a real aversion to it," the source added.
West was approached by a swarm of paparazzi photographers Friday during an outing with Kardashian in Beverly Hills.
"The incident in Beverly Hills last Friday when he walked into the street sign was just the latest in a string of issues that have concerned Kris," a source explained.
"When they were in Paris, Kanye kept telling the paparazzi to leave him and Kim alone. But as a manager, Kris wants Kim and Kayne to be photographed; it's their gig," the source added.
Critics were shocked in April when footage surfaced online of West failing to help a heavily pregnant Kardashian out of a car.
"Like everyone else, Kim's sisters and mom saw the video of Kanye and Kim in Paris. They were more than a little shocked, to say the least!" the source said.
"Kris told a friend she couldn't believe that Kanye didn't think it was the right thing for him to do to open the door for a six-month pregnant woman. But Kris has long lamented that it's always been all about Kanye — and not Kim," the source added.
