Kris Jenner Separated After Relationship Became 'Unhealthy,' She Says

Kris Jenner is finally opening up about her separation with Bruce Jenner, insisting their relationship got to a point that was no longer healthy to be together.

The new insights came during during a podcast interview with Kathie Lee Gifford.

"We are better people and happier just spending time apart than we are spending time together. We decided this was best for our family," Jenner said during the interview. "We came to a place where this isn't healthy, the way we were treating each other."

Still, Jenner insists the two are happy to have met each other and will remain friends.

"Everything happens for a reason. I was so blessed to meet Bruce," she said. "We will remain best friends … I'd rather have him in my life as a friend than not in my life at all."

However, there were rumors that the marriage finally deteriorated after Jenner became obsessed with her show and its falling ratings.

"Everything in Kris' life is about ratings," a source close to the family told Radar Online. "Bruce was never her priority and he was totally sick of it."

"Sometimes he would mention it bothered him, but most of the time he wouldn't say anything, so Kris just went about living how she was and treating him that way," the insider added.

Her criticism of her husband was allegedly ongoing and increased as their relationship fell apart.

"It was awful to see how Kris treated Bruce. She was critical of his looks, she'd complain about his clothes, and she'd never call him loving names, only referring to him as 'he,'" the source said.

The Kardashian empire seems to be suffering after being hit with lawsuits, cheating allegations and divorces. In addition, the family's reality television show is seeing the lowest ratings in its history.

A September episode gathered only 1.79 million viewers overall and only 1 million viewers in the 18-49 demographic compared with 3.79 during the height of their popularity.
