Krispy Kreme Locations Offer: 76 Cents for Dozen Donuts On Saturday
Krispy Kreme is celebrating 76 years of business on Saturday by offering customers a second purchase of a dozen donuts for just 76 cents.
The 76-cent deal is only valid after an initial purchase of a dozen Krispy Kreme donuts at regular price. However, no coupon is required.
Known for offering free treats on National Doughnut Day each June, Krispy Kreme's deal is sure to attract fans from far and wide with their birthday deal.
The offer is available Saturday only at participating Krispy Kreme locations in the U.S. and Canada, but it excludes Connecticut.
On July 13, 1937, Vernon Rudolph founded the very first Krispy Kreme in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
"When you hear people talk about having a Krispy Kreme, they are most often referring to our signature treat- the Original Glazed doughnut," explained chief of marketing for Krispy Kreme Corp. Dwayne Chambers.
"Made from a recipe dating back to the 1930's, our uniquely delicious Original Glazed doughnuts help set Krispy Kreme apart from another sweet treat retailer," Chambers added. "We're excited to celebrate 76 years of sharing delicious tastes and creating fond memories by giving our fans an opportunity to try and share the doughnut that has become famous worldwide."
Also commemorating its 76th birthday, Krispy Kreme is offering fans a free new Facebook application where users can create their own 70's themed photo at KrispyKreme.com/76th.
Though the special fried sweet dough is spelled both doughnut and donut, there is no dispute over its popularity. The sweet snack is prepared in countless varieties that can be flavored, iced, filled and often come topped with sprinkles or other toppings.
Doughnut varieties are also divided into cake and various risen type doughnuts, and include shapes such as rings, balls, flattened spheres, twists, and many others.
