Cannes: Kristen Stewart's 'Personal Shopper' Receives 4-Minute Plus Standing Ovation
"Personal Shopper" is a ghost story set in Paris and follows the story of a young American who believes that she can communicate with her departed twin brother.
Kristen Stewart is devil may care despite getting booed by some of the audience at the Cannes Festival, where her psychological thriller "Personal Shopper" was screened.
"Everybody did not boo. Let's be clear," Stewart said when she was interviewed after the screening of the said film, as per Hollywood Reporter.
While it is true that some of those who saw the movie couldn't help but expressed whatever left them dissatisfied about the movie, others were generous enough in showing their appreciation by giving it a good round of applause and a standing ovation that lasted for more than four minutes.

Apart from "Personal Shopper" getting mixed reactions from the critics who attended the premiere showing of the movie, Stewart also captured the attention of the media after she was spotted changing into her pair of sneakers after walking the red carpet in heels. The actress was also seen hugging her "Personal Shopping" director, Olivier Assayas while the crowd was applauding.
Apparently, the boos that the movie got did not also affect Assaya, who said that he experiences it with his other movies once in a while, especially if the moviegoers fail to grasp the real essence of a movie's ending. The director also added that every participant in the Cannes Festival should be prepared for anything that can happen.
Incidentally, Stewart has another entry at the Cannes Festival, "Café Society" by Woody Allen. In this movie, Stewart plays the role of Vonnie, a Hollywood secretary in the '30s. Time opines that, while it is true that the roles of the actress in the two movies are very different from each other, Stewart managed to be terrific in both.
