Kristen Stewart Nike Endorsement Deal Rumors Surface
Kristen Stewart is rumored to be in talks with Nike to become one of the latest faces of the footwear company.
The "Twilight" actress, 23, is renowned for sporting the comfortable footwear on red carpets and Nike execs reportedly believe her tomboy image could appeal to a broader female market. Stewart could join the likes of Lance Armstrong and Michael Jordan if endorsement deal reports prove accurate.
"It's no secret how much Kristen loves Nikes. She often changes into a pair of Nikes after walking the red carpet in heels," a source close to Stewart allegedly told RadarOnline.com.
"The company obviously wants to broaden its base from athletes to actors, and, in particular, appeal to young women," the source added.
Stewart has not publicly responded to the reports, however, fans believe the fresh-faced actress would be ideal for Nike. While the Hollywood starlet has promoted other brands in the past, she is said to be selective when it comes to endorsements.
"It's not the easiest deal to make, as Kristen has shunned dozens of offers to endorse products since her rise to fame in the Twilight films," the insider revealed.
"Also, Kristen already makes a ton of money because she gets a little piece of the Twilight merchandise. She's terribly self-conscious about seeing her face on products," the source explained. "Nike will have to roll out some serious money if they're going to be able to close a deal with her."
The report comes months after Stewart was unveiled as the new face of Chanel. She will model for Chanel's new Metiers d'Art 2013-14 collection.
"I'm a huge fan of the fashion world now that I've been allowed to be a part of it, even if often times I don't even know what I'm wearing," Stewart told Marie Claire Australia in 2012.
In addition to Chanel, the actress has promoted Balenciaga and she is currently the face of the fashion house's perfume Rosabotanica.
