Kristen Stewart on Twilight Breaking Dawn – Originally Too Racy
Lead actress in the hit Twilight series Kristen Stewart has said that “Breaking Dawn: Part 1” was too adult for minor audiences after the original scenes were rated.
The fourth installment to the series covers Stewart’s character, Bella, enjoying her marriage to Edward, portrayed by Stewart’s real-life boyfriend Robert Pattinson.
Breaking Dawn will be split into two parts, with Part 1 scheduled for release Nov. 18.
Speaking to the U.K.’s edition of Glamour magazine, Stewart said filming Part 1 was “surreal.”
“It was so weird, it didn’t even feel like we were doing a Twilight film. I was like, ‘Bella! What are you doing? Wow! What is happening here!’” Said the star.
The 21-year-old actress described that the sex scenes in the upcoming film were unlike any other scene in the previous installments because her character waited until marriage to have sex.
“It was very surreal. We [originally] got rated R. They re-cut it,” she explained of the new movie.
Part 1 will cover the wedding between the main characters, and has been a trending topic of social media sites for months. When asked to describe the pivotal scene, Stewart could not reveal any information.
“I had to be shrouded in secrecy the entire two days of filming,” she said. “It was crazy. I was on full lockdown, as if I was wearing millions of dollars worth of diamonds.”
The poster for Breaking Dawn: Part 1 reveals the leading actors donning obvious weddings rings and involved in an intense embrace.
Breaking Dawn: Part 2 is scheduled for release Nov. 16 of next year.
