Kristin Cavallari Defends Makeup-Free Tweet Amidst News of Husband's Injury

Kristin Cavallari posted a photo of herself without makeup just before her husband's injury during Sunday's NFL game between the Chicago Bears and the Washington Redskins.

The former "Hills" star married Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler over the summer and displayed her support ahead of Sunday's game on Twitter.

"Go Bears #nofilter #nomakeup #dontcare," Cavallari wrote.

However, after Cutler was escorted off of the field during the match in Landover, Maryland, Cavallari took issue with Twitter users who accused her of only caring about her appearance.

"I tweeted that BEFORE he got hurt," she wrote, before blocking Twitter user @Mangsta who had posted: "Husband gets seriously hurt. @KristinCav tweets about not having hair extensions."

"I know it seems like I only respond to haters but they drive me crazy when they have NO clue that they are talking about," she added.

As for Cutler's condition, the Bears may be signing a new quarterback following his groin injury, which sources say "could be bad." The 30-year-old sports star underwent X-rays and is set to have an MRI scan on Monday, according to CBS Chicago.

Meanwhile, Sunday was not the first time the former MTV star had taken to Twitter to defend her relationship with Cutler. Ahead of their June 7 wedding, Cavallari slammed critics, who accused Cutler of being unromantic after reports of their engagement arose.

"Stop bashing Jay," started the 26-year-old. "He proposed in Cabo. Stop believing headlines… u have no clue. They take 1 part of an interview and get ppl talking."

The Twitter post was the result of criticism toward the Bears' quarterback following Cavallari's admission that he had mailed her diamond engagement ring after the couple decided that their engagement was back on.

Further defending against reports such as Wetpaint's "Kristin Cavallari Has a Wedding Date- and a Pretty Lame Proposal Story," Cavallari added that sports news headlines are especially unreliable.

"And sports 'news' is no better than tabloids," she posted to Twitter at the time. "That's where they get their info."

"The Hills" star even went on to defend Cutler's flair for romanticism.

"Last time I'm saying this," she posted to Twitter. "Jay proposed in Cabo, got down on one knee, & was incredibly sweet. Stop trying to make it something it's not. 2nd time wasn't a proposal. We weren't going to see each other for months and I wanted to wear my ring so it was sent in the mail. BIG DEAL."

Cavallari and Cutler called off their engagement in July 2011. The following November, the pair reconciled, promising fans "this time it's official" via Twitter. 10 months ahead of their wedding, Cavallari and Cutler welcomed a son, Camden Jack.

Despite Cavallari's assertions, Cutler is infamously unpopular off of the football field, and was named number four on Forbes' "10 Most Disliked Athletes in America" this year.
