I simply cannot believe this, said Meyers, who ousted legendary rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers from the No. 1 position. Overwhelmed doesnt begin to describe how I feel towards the reception I am receiving in Japan. God wanted this all to happen and I am so thankful to be a part of it.
Meyers, who visited Japan earlier this spring, is scheduled to return to visit with media and retail later this year. The 17-year-old singer/songwriter/guitarist will also be featured on the covers of the June editions of Nylon Magazine Japan and Bounce Magazine.
Since the U.S. release of her self-titled debut album on Essential Records, Meyers has garnered a Dove Award nomination for New Artist of the Year, had three Top 10 singles (The Way To Begin, My Savior, and Anticonformity), and performed before more than 400,000 people. The artists second studio project, Dying For A Heart, will be in stores Sept. 19.
